Fire Ninja is an American Firefighter owned and operated company. All of Fire Ninja’s products were designed to enhance functionality and promote safety. District Chief / EMT Peter Kirvin started as a volunteer firefighter in 2000 at Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department. He was hired with Boca Grande Fire Department in 2002. Peter became a company officer early in his career and quickly realized there was a need for better safety products in the fire service. After years of research and development Fire Ninja, LLC was founded in 2012. Fire Ninja, LLC was created to provide quality safety equipment to emergency responders, including personal protective equipment and active cooling equipment for firefighter rehabilitation. Since Fire Ninja was launched, the company has experienced phenomenal growth. Today, Fire Ninja takes pride in providing superior safety equipment to 1st responders, military and civilians across the country and around the world. In 2019 the Fire Ninja Training Center was established to teach 1st responder situational awareness and self defense. Fire Ninja partnered up with Conquest MMA to prepare 1st responders for real life dangerous scenarios. The Training Center was forced to shut down during COVID-19. We have now partnered with Gustavo Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2020 the COVID-19 Pandemic inspired Peter to initiate the nonprofit 501c3 organization R1R, Inc. (Respect 1st Responders). R1R was created to work in conjunction with Fire Ninja Safety Equipment to assist First Responders and Front Line Workers with resources and equipment. As a Firefighter owned and operated company, Fire Ninja strives to give back to their fellow Brothers and Sisters on the front line.

HISTORY OF PRODUCTS

THE NAME

The name Fire Ninja was created from Peter’s passion for the fire service (FIRE) and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / mma (NINJA).  

THE SHADES

With little money to invest, he started with fire service t-shirt designs. He managed to save $10,000 and started supplying ANSI rated anti-impact eye protection. Over the years he witnessed and heard of several firefighters that received eye injuries because they refused to wear proper primary eye protection. He decided to create a few designs that would provide protection and would be stylish enough that 1st responders would actually wear them.  

SUBZERO TOWELS

The SUBZERO Heat Emergency REHAB cooling towel was the 2nd Fire Ninja product. It was designed after a long day of fire hose testing in the hot Florida sun. Peter’s crew was testing and loading hose for hours. They used wet towels to provide protection from the sun but as they worked the towels dried up quickly and fell off their heads onto the ground. Peter realized that firefighters needed a product that would not only cool their core temperature but would also provide protection from the sun. The SUBZERO Res-Qcore action fabric is like a cooling towel on steroids. It is designed to hold water to provide a cooling barrier between the user and the elements. It also features the FLEX Band that can be utilized to attach the towel to the user during wild-land firefighting, marine rescue operations, firefighter REHAB, CERT and more. Now this product is also used for patients with heat emergencies such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke, sick patients with fevers, hot flashes and the list goes on.

ULTRABRIGHT SAFETY VESTS

The next product and the most popular product is the ULTRABRIGHT Public Safety Vest. This product was created because most safety vests are poorly designed. They twist, tangle and fall apart on emergency scenes where every second counts. The ULTRABRIGHT vest has several unique design features such as the 6 Point Breakaway system, double breakaway zippers, reinforced Velcro shoulder breakaways, anti-twist adjustable side bands, ultra access performance cut and a reflective Chevron pattern on the back. This product was third party tested by SGS and it exceeds ANSI / ISEA  107 -2015 standards. Our products out shine and out perform any other public safety vest on the market.
